KIU named after V.G. Timiryasov enhances its international connections with the People’s Republic of China.

      Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov received a delegation from Heilongjiang University of Finance and Economics (Harbin, PRC) as part of a reciprocal visit aimed at enhancing bilateral collaboration in education and research. During the formal meeting, the attendees discussed current joint projects and explored potential areas for future cooperation. Language education continues to be a vital aspect of the partnership, with KIU expanding its Chinese language offerings while providing students and faculty with further opportunities for language practice and cultural immersion. Special emphasis was placed on developing joint academic programs, undertaking collaborative research initiatives, and expanding educational projects focused on preparing specialists for the economies of both Russia and China.

      The participants shared experiences regarding the development of modern educational settings, the promotion of innovation, and the establishment of conditions conducive to students’ professional and personal growth. There was particular interest in topics related to workforce training in response to the rapidly shifting labor market, the enhancement of practical education, and increasing opportunities for student involvement in educational and professional endeavors. KIU’s significant experience in executing projects to improve education quality and bolster students’ professional skills was notably acknowledged. Lilya Vorontsova, Vice-Rector for Economics and Strategic Development, highlighted that the partnership between Kazan Innovative University and Heilongjiang University of Finance and Economics is a crucial part of the university’s international strategy, fostering academic and research dialogue between Russia and China.

      Members of the Chinese delegation expressed high praise for the hospitality they received and conveyed their appreciation for the warm reception and productive exchange of ideas. They reaffirmed their dedication to further developing the partnership based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared goal of advancing education and research. At the end of the visit, the parties signed an Agreement on the Development of International Academic Mobility and confirmed their willingness to continue expanding collaboration, highlighting the importance of establishing sustainable international partnerships and creating new opportunities for academic mobility for both students and faculty.
