      According to the Telegram channel Mash, at least 15 police officers in Tatarstan were poisoned after dinner in the canteen of the Kazan Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the source, the incident occurred on August 6. A group of law enforcement officers were attending professional training and advanced training courses at the Kazan Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the evening of August 6, they had dinner in the institute’s canteen. Some time later the officers began to have stomach problems. They all showed similar symptoms – nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

      It is currently known that 12 people were urgently hospitalized. Three more police officers were sent for home treatment. "Twelve people were urgently hospitalized, among them mid-level commanding officers. Three more were sent for home treatment. After an inspection a criminal case was opened for violation of sanitary norms, the perpetrators are being sought," the source said.

      According to preliminary reports from local media, the cause of the incident was the use of expired products when preparing food in the educational institution’s canteen.

      Earlier it was reported that twelve people died as a result of poisoning by alcohol bought at a market in Adler. According to Mash, citing its sources, methanol was found in samples of homemade chacha, consumption of which caused the mass poisoning in Adler. Experts note that it formed during production due to the presence of fusel oils in the bottles.
