      "In principle, anything can be repaired, but the question is only about the price. In other words, whether there is economic feasibility for such a repair or not. Repair kits are available for everything, and you cannot categorically say that modern engines are not subject to overhaul," the agency's interlocutor said.

      As an example, he cited bodywork repair of a car.

      "Suppose your fender got dented and it is welded. If you replace it, it will cost, say, 50,000 rubles, and the labor for its replacement another 30,000 rubles, so the total will be 80,000 rubles. Suppose you decide to repair it. The panel beater, after looking at your fender, agrees to straighten it, but it will cost 100,000 rubles," Ligachev said.

      He noted that in such situations much depends on the person himself. There are people who believe it is better to repair the fender for 100,000 rubles so that the part remains original on the car, while for others it is economically more advantageous to replace the fender.

      "The same situation applies to engines. The question is: what kind of engine it is, how much it costs, how much its overhaul costs and many other nuances. In some cases and for some engines it is economically better to buy a new one, while in others a new engine will be extremely expensive and its repair will cost much less," Ligachev summed up.
