In Kazan, 57.7 million rubles will be spent on the major renovation of the ice arena in the Palace of Sports on Moskovskaya Street. The corresponding tender has been published on the public procurement website.
By the beginning of next summer, specialists must carry out a range of construction and installation works and purchase furniture. The customer is the state public institution Glavinveststroy of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Recall that the Palace of Sports in Kazan was opened in 1966. It is the city's oldest sports facility. Until 2005, HC Ak Bars played their home games here. It was here that the Kazan hockey players became Russian champions for the first time. This happened in the 1997/1998 season. For 20 years Ak Bars have played at Tatneft Arena. But in February last year Ak Bars briefly returned to the old arena because of the "Games of the Future."
Last year, more than 172 million rubles were allocated for repairs of the Palace of Sports. The contractor carried out general construction and electrical installation work, as well as repairs of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and water supply systems.
