Zakharova called Kaja Kallas's remarks about Russian technologies "critically illiterate."

      The official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the words of the head of the EU’s diplomatic service, Kaja Kallas, “critically illiterate,” after Kallas said that the Russians are “not so strong in technologies, but excel in the social sciences.”

      The diplomat drew attention to Kallas’s words, in which she noted: “The Chinese possess outstanding skills in technology, however their achievements in the social sciences are inferior to the Russians, who, in turn, are not so strong in technology but excel in the social sciences.”

      In response Zakharova emphasized that Kallas’s statements contradict reality:

      “If Russia is ‘not so strong in technologies,’ who built the Crimean Bridge? Who launches rockets from the Vostochny cosmodrome? Who created ‘Oreshnik’? And so on and the like. Likewise, not being strong in the social sciences, China would not be able to govern a billion citizens. Kallas is critically illiterate,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.

      The Foreign Ministry representative also noted: “Apparently Kallas took criticism for her previous pearls and, as [former German Foreign Minister Annalena] Baerbock put it, turned 360 [degrees],” — reminding of Baerbock’s incorrect wording, who meant to say “a 180-degree turn.”
