      A resident of Kazan reported a theft of property to the police. The woman said that a television set had gone missing from her apartment in the Kirovsky District.

      Officers of the investigative-operational team who arrived at the scene seized the necessary evidence and questioned the victim.

      As a result of the necessary measures, detectives from the department for solving residential burglaries of the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kazan quickly identified the suspect and detained him in one of the city's hostels. The 31-year-old native of the Kirov region did not deny his guilt and confessed to the crime. During questioning he said that he had arrived in the republic’s capital about a month ago and had been getting by on temporary jobs. The man ran out of money for living expenses and decided to commit the crime. A criminal case has been opened against him under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The suspect has been arrested.
