On September 8, the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Siege of Leningrad, a special event dedicated to the heroic feat of those who survived the siege during the Great Patriotic War took place at the "Mechta" shelter. It began with the solemn performance of the national anthem of the Russian Federation, setting a serious and respectful tone. Then the children immersed themselves in history by watching a presentation about the siege period. They learned about the difficult but incredibly heroic lives of Leningraders, and we talked with the children about the courage and resilience the city’s residents showed in those terrible years. To the steady ticking of a metronome, symbolizing the relentless passage of time and marking off lives, the children honored with a minute of silence the memory of all who died during the siege. Eternal memory to the heroes! Glory to the defenders and residents of besieged Leningrad!
