      The summary presents data on cases of acute poisonings of chemical etiology from the cities and districts of the RT.

      During the reporting period, 50 cases of acute poisonings of chemical etiology were registered.

      Among acute poisonings of chemical etiology, 56% of poisonings occurred in the male population and 44% in the female population.

      Poisonings among children accounted for 32% (mistaken ingestion due to lapses in adult supervision), poisonings among adolescents — 8%.

      Of the intentional poisonings during this period, cases for the purpose of stupefaction/intoxication accounted for 62.5% and suicidal cases — 37.5%.

      In the structure of accidental poisonings the share of “mistaken ingestion” is 33%, “accidental” — 5%, “for the purpose of intoxication” — 38% and other poisonings — 24%.

      During the reporting period, out of 50 cases of acute poisonings of chemical etiology, 10 cases of poisoning by alcohol and alcohol-containing liquids were registered. The place of purchase of the alcohol is unknown.
