Tatcoin, a fashion show and a robot battle: what will be presented at Kazan Digital Week 2025
Representatives of 74 countries have confirmed participation in Kazan Digital Week 2025
More than 1,200 speakers, over 160 sessions
The international forum Kazan Digital Week 2025 will be held from September 17 to 19. It will be the largest in its history. It is expected to feature more than 1,200 speakers and over 160 sessions, said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ayrat Khayrullin. “The scale of the forum grows every year. We are expecting a record number of countries. Representatives from 74 states have already registered. We expect 10 high-level delegations. In addition to Russian regions, colleagues will join us from India, the UAE, Kuwait, Pakistan, China, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Moldova and many others,” he said.
In addition, the forum will sum up the implementation this year of the national project “Digital Economy. Data Economy,” so representatives from various Russian regions responsible for digitalization will gather there.
The main theme of the forum this year will be the development of artificial intelligence, Khayrullin added. “The main trend of Kazan Digital Week has become artificial intelligence. In the business program it is represented across 10 topic areas. By popular demand, we will have a separate master class demonstrating the capabilities and experience of implementing AI in the public sector,” the minister said.
Also within KDW a crypto forum will be held where industry representatives will gather to discuss further development. “A provocative and interesting topic. It is a large industry in the field of hardware and algorithms. We will have an extensive business program related to digital assets to synchronize the dialogue between business and government. We will discuss blockchains, mining, the digital ruble, and organize a thematic exhibition with companies from different countries,” Khayrullin said.
Tatarstan will launch an accelerator for solo entrepreneurs
Tatarstan will present several important initiatives at the forum. One such project will be an educational business accelerator for solo entrepreneurs. “At Kazan Digital Week 2025 we will present and launch a new educational accelerator for preparing and training solo IT entrepreneurs. It is a startup based on artificial intelligence for companies where only one person works,” Khayrullin said.
As he explained to Tatar-inform, automated programs powered by artificial intelligence that perform a complex of business-related tasks will be presented there. “For example, every company has a marketing department. We understand that the full range of their tasks can be performed by artificial intelligence. The goal is to teach young entrepreneurs to think in the paradigm that a company can have only one person, and all other digital business functions can be performed by AI agents. We see this as a trend for the coming decades,” the minister noted.
Mini-robot battle
Kazan Digital Week will host Tatarstan’s open mini-robot battle tournament. “Teams of three people aged 10 and up will be able to participate in the tournament. They will compete in designing and battling mini-robots weighing up to 1.5 kilograms. Twenty-two teams from Tatarstan and 16 from other Russian regions will take part,” Ayrat Khayrullin said.
According to him, such a tournament promotes engineering specialties among young people across the country and promises to be a spectacular event within the forum.
286 companies will share their developments at the Kazan Digital Week exhibition
The forum’s exhibition promises to be large-scale and will occupy two pavilions at Kazan Expo. Their IT achievements will be presented by 286 companies, said the director of the Association for the Promotion of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Safin. “Among the exhibition participants are companies from 23 regions of Russia and other countries. The leading regions by representation are Moscow Region, Tatarstan and Saint Petersburg. Participation in the exhibition is an opportunity to learn about industry trends, find partners and clients,” he said.
Most of the solutions to be presented at the exhibition are related to automating processes in production, intelligent search, video analytics, security and integrating artificial intelligence into business, Safin added.
A scientific collection of 371 papers from authors from different countries has been prepared for Kazan Digital Week
A scientific collection has been prepared for the start of the forum, which includes papers by authors from Russia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Egypt and Iran, said the president of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rifkat Minnikhanov. “We always say that science should be at the core of various forums. For Kazan Digital Week we compiled a scientific collection that includes 371 papers. That’s a substantial number. Among the authors are representatives of Tatarstan organizations, Russian educational institutions, foreign scientists and others,” he noted.
According to him, special attention at the forum should be paid to the integration of science, business and government and to supporting young scientists. “There will be a separate platform at the forum to discuss these issues. The Academy of Sciences will also organize its own platform where it will showcase its developments,” Minnikhanov continued.
He spoke about several projects that the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan will present at the exhibition. Among them is Tatcoin — Tatarstan’s token to attract partner financing to the republic based on blockchain. “This project was presented in the UAE and at the international forum ‘Russia — Islamic World.’ I am confident that Tatcoin has great potential in building relations between our country and the Islamic world,” Rifkat Minnikhanov stressed.
Neural network makeup and Kazan Digital Fashion Week
Special attention at the forum will be paid to modern technologies in culture, added the rector of the Kazan State Institute of Culture, Roza Akhmadieva. “The prologue of the forum’s plenary session will be dedicated to the transformation of traditions through modern interpretations and the preservation of the people’s cultural code. Master classes for a wide audience will be held on the synthesis of classical makeup techniques and digital technologies, neural network sketching in the contemporary makeup industry, and trends in film and game industries in creating looks for the modern stage,” she said.
As part of the forum, on September 18 at 18:30 a.m. an international fashion show, Kazan Digital Fashion Week, will take place at the Rameev IT Park. “The program includes an author’s video show using modern technologies, demonstrations of unique collections by leading couturiers and young designers from Russia and other countries, and integration of AR and VR technologies,” Akhmadieva noted.
Collections will be presented in both real and virtual formats, demonstrating the fusion of the cultural heritage of CIS countries with modern technologies, she concluded.
