Kazan has made it onto the list of the most popular destinations for New Year's travel.

      Kazan has entered the list of the most popular Russian cities for New Year's holidays, TASS reports, citing a study by the Kupibilet service in which more than 1.5 thousand people took part.

      More than 40% of Russians plan to spend the holidays within the country. Among popular destinations are Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Crimea and Kazan, which turned out to be among the leaders.

      At the same time, almost half of respondents (48%) are willing to spend between 100,000 and 150,000 rubles per person on a New Year's trip, while 42% plan to keep within 50,000 rubles. Overall, the budget of most tourists remained at the level of previous years.

      In addition to travel within Russia, trips to CIS countries are in demand — Georgia, Armenia, the Baltic states — as well as to Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and the Maldives.
