A delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan visited Malaysia.

      The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan — Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, paid a working visit to the international exhibition "MIHAS 2025" in Malaysia. The delegation also included Deputy Minister Rustem Gainullov, adviser to the general director of MCSiS "Halal" Kamil Gazizov, and heads of agro-industrial enterprises.

      In Putrajaya, Marat Zyabbarov held a meeting with the Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Mohammad Ben Sabu. The parties discussed prospects for increasing trade turnover of agro-industrial products. According to last year’s results, imports from Malaysia to the Republic of Tatarstan amounted to USD 5.1 million, while exports totaled USD 77.75 thousand.

      "We are ready to share our knowledge and technologies, and also to consider opportunities for joint projects," Marat Zyabbarov noted.

      In Kuala Lumpur, a working meeting was held with importers of Malaysian agro-industrial products. According to Marat Zyabbarov, Tatarstan has already established itself as a reliable supplier of high-quality products.

      "We are confident that our goods will be in demand on the Malaysian market. Issues of product certification and standardization have been worked out; our companies have received accreditation from the international certification body JAKIM to ensure compliance with your market requirements under the 'Halal' standard," he said.

      The central event of the visit was attending the "MIHAS 2025" exhibition. The venue showcased food products, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, cosmetics meeting "Halal" standards, as well as Muslim tourism and Islamic finance.

      Also during the working trip, a meeting took place with the Director of the Department for the Development of Islam of Malaysia, Dr. Sirajuddin Suhaimi. Cooperation between the parties is of strategic importance for the development of exports of halal products from Tatarstan. "The results achieved over the past two years create a solid foundation for further increasing supplies and expanding the presence of Tatarstan’s producers on the market of Malaysia and the whole Southeast Asian region," the minister said.
