      A distinctive feature of the building, constructed in 1910 (according to BTI) or dating from 1898 (according to archival research), is its belonging to the complex of the second cathedral mosque of the Admiralty Settlement. The owner of the house, Ilya Evlampiev, a programmer and local historian, three years ago began independent restoration, carrying out basic work before involving volunteers.

      Key stages of the restoration included:

      - Recreating lost decorative elements based on preserved samples

      - Hand-finishing the historic lace carving of the cornices

      - Selecting an authentic color scheme (beige background with blue accents)

      - Restoring historic window surrounds and doors

      Organizers noted high volunteer interest in the project despite the site’s distance from the center. The “Tom Sawyer Fest” movement, which originated in Kazan in 2016, expanded the geography of its projects beyond the central districts for the first time, opening new prospects for the preservation of the city’s historical heritage.
