The Spassky District team took fourth place at the republican tournament "Battle of Mini-Robots".

      Schoolchildren from Bolgar made a successful debut at a prestigious robotics competition.

      As part of the international forum Kazan Digital Week-2025, the II Open Tournament of the Republic of Tatarstan “Battle of Mini-Robots” concluded. The event, organized by the IT Park technopark with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan, brought together 22 teams of young engineers.

      Spassky District was represented by the “Bol-Gar” team, composed of ninth-grade students of Bolgar’s First School, Yegor Ibragimov and Danil Kuznetsov, coached by computer science teacher Nikolai Grechukhin. The district administration played an important role in preparing the team — the executive committee, led by Roman Islanov, allocated 186,200 rubles for the purchase of specialized equipment for assembling and servicing the robot.

      Despite their debut participation, the team demonstrated impressive results, advancing to the tournament semifinals. In the decisive bouts for a prize position, the “Bol-Gar” robot sustained technical damage, which prevented the team from continuing the fight for victory. As a result of the competition, the Spassky schoolchildren took fourth place, receiving a certificate for 80,000 rubles to further develop their projects.

      “Participation in such competitions is an invaluable experience for our students. The kids not only gained practical skills but also saw the level of other teams, which will serve as an additional incentive for further development,” said team leader Nikolai Grechukhin.

      The “Battle of Mini-Robots” tournament is held to popularize engineering sciences and digital technologies among youth. The competitions required the creation of robots weighing up to 1.5 kilograms, which demanded deep knowledge in programming, mechatronics, and electronics from the participants.

      The organizers emphasize that the tournament contributes to forming a talent pool for high-tech sectors of the economy and will continue to develop in future seasons.
