      Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated forestry workers and industry veterans on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on the third Sunday of September. The congratulation was published on his Telegram channel.

      "I congratulate forestry workers and industry veterans on their professional holiday! This day is especially close and dear to me. My father devoted his entire life to serving the forestry sector, instilling in me a love of nature and a sense of responsibility toward the surrounding world," Minnikhanov wrote, noting the personal significance of the day for him.

      In his congratulation in the Tatar language he wished forestry workers new achievements, strong health, and family well‑being.

      The Day of Forestry Workers was established to raise the prestige of the profession and attract young people to the sector. Since 1980 the holiday has been celebrated on the third Sunday of September, which is linked to the adoption of the first "Forest Legislation" in the USSR. In August 2000 the Day of Forestry Workers was officially confirmed by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation.
