But a study by the accounting service "Moe Delo" showed that reality is different, reports Lenta.ru. For a significant portion of Russians the main source of stress turns out not to be the start of the workweek but Sunday — a day formally considered a day off and supposed to bring rest.
Why Sunday
The survey showed that 42% of employees do not feel a difference between days of the week, as they constantly suffer from lack of sleep and chronic fatigue. But it was Sunday that became the leader in anxiety levels. Almost every third respondent said that rest turns into a trial — thoughts about deadlines and upcoming workload poison the rest of the weekend. "A day off brings not the long-awaited rest, but anxiety because of endless tasks," the experts noted in their analysis.
When people are most productive
Analysts identified another pattern: the peak of energy and efficiency falls in the middle of the week. It is on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that employees feel the greatest surge of strength. By the end of the week motivation drops. "If employees' productivity peaks midweek, it is better to schedule strategic tasks for that period," the analysts advised.
Thus, the day that is associated with rest becomes for many a point of internal tension.
