      The deputy head of the main mobilization division of the Russian General Staff, Vice Admiral Vladimir Tsymlyansky, told RIA Novosti that the autumn conscription for servicemen will begin on October 1 and continue until the end of the current year.

      What you need to know

      The term of military service will remain the same — exactly one year. Young soldiers will be sent to their deployment locations two weeks after the start of the campaign, that is, from mid-October. Draftees will receive notifications in two ways: traditional postal notices and digitally — via an electronic summons. If a draftee ignores the summons without a valid reason for more than three consecutive weeks, special restrictions will be imposed against him. Modern technologies for accounting military resources will be used: a unified registry will simplify the processing of benefits and exemptions from personal attendance at the commission. A commission’s decision to conscript is valid for one year from the moment the verdict is issued.

      Anyone who received a summons but could not go to serve in the autumn will definitely be conscripted in the spring of the following year.
