The "Clean Air" operation in support of the national project "Environmental Well-Being" is nearing completion. In Tatarstan, 5,827 vehicles have been inspected.

      From June 1 to September 30 the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan and the Interregional Territorial Administration of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District, is carrying out a large-scale operational and preventive event aimed at preventing the negative impact of motor vehicles on atmospheric air.

      To date, 5,827 vehicles have been inspected, including 5,344 passenger cars, 264 trucks and 219 buses. Inspections using special gas analyzers are being carried out in all 27 districts of the republic.

      “A total of only 109 cars have been found to exceed permissible emission limits to date, which is just 1.8% of the total number of vehicles inspected,” emphasized Head of the Atmospheric Air Protection Department Ildar Shakramov.

      Statistics of recent years demonstrate a steady decline in the number of detected violations. If in 2020, out of 6,588 inspected cars, 220 (3.3%) did not meet environmental standards, then in 2024 this figure fell to 177 violations out of 6,482 inspected vehicles (2.7%). This year the indicator improved to a record 1.8%.

      Today, together with journalists, another raid took place at the “Malinovka” traffic police post in the Verkhneuslonsky District.

      During the raid 10 cars were checked, of which only 4 were found to exceed emission limits.

      Violators are being given explanatory briefings and administrative offense reports are being drawn up. Many vehicle owners react positively to the inspections: “I hadn’t heard of such an inspection before; I will service my car more often and monitor its condition. This can really help improve the republic’s environment,” drivers note.

      The trend of a decreasing number of detected violations indicates growing environmental responsibility among vehicle owners and the effectiveness of the annual preventive activities.

      Reference: in 2024, 6,482 vehicles were inspected during the operation; 177 exceedances were detected;

      in 2023 — 6,886 vehicles were inspected; 184 cars failed the environmental check;

      in 2022 — 6,570 vehicles were inspected; 183 violations were detected;

      in 2021 — 6,201 vehicles were inspected; 172 violations were detected;

      in 2020 — 6,588 vehicles were inspected; 220 violations were detected.
