      The protective status of a historic building — the Apakov House on Gorky Street — may be changed in Kazan. The Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan has put forward an initiative to reconsider the decision to include the site in the unified state register of cultural heritage sites.

      The draft of the corresponding order is currently undergoing an anti-corruption review. The building, constructed in 1912 to a design by architect Vasily Trifonov, was previously entered into the register as the "Complex of the Revenue House of I. A. Surin" and holds the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
