Ukraine has imposed new sanctions on Russia's oil sector.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a series of decrees that extended and expanded the scope of personal sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities. The corresponding decisions of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) came into force, TASS reports.
The first decree introduced restrictions against a number of companies and citizens from Russia. The sanctions list, in particular, included JSC Nefteavtomatika and LLC Kurgankhimmash.
The second document extended measures adopted in 2023 for another two years. The third decree concerns individuals and legal entities that Kyiv associates with Russia’s oil sector.
The sanctions are set for 10 years and provide for the freezing of assets on Ukrainian territory, the annulment of licenses, the termination of trade agreements, a ban on the transfer of intellectual property assets, and the stripping of state awards.
Zelensky regularly signs decrees imposing sanctions on Russian companies and citizens, as well as on persons from other countries whom the Ukrainian authorities accuse of cooperating with Moscow. Kyiv also actively urges Western countries to join its restrictive measures against Russia.
