"There are patriots of Russia there": Eduard Sharafiev on his inclusion in the Myrotvorets database*

      Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and participant in the special military operation Eduard Sharafiev commented on his inclusion in the Ukrainian database “Mirotvorets”*. He told Tatar-inform that this decision will in no way affect his resolve to continue fighting Nazism.

      “I learned about my being added to ‘Mirotvorets’* today in the first half of the day. I don’t see a problem in this for myself. I regard this fact calmly. This decision will in no way affect my resolve to continue fighting Nazism. After all, many decent Russians — patriots of the country — are listed on that site. Among them are high-ranking leaders. It is enough to say that a State Duma deputy, head of the Donbass Volunteer Union Alexander Borodai, who previously commanded the volunteer brigade ‘Saint George,’ is listed in ‘Mirotvorets’*, and I am currently serving in that brigade. So to be in such company is an honor for me,” he shared.

      The scandalous site “Mirotvorets”* was created in 2014. Its goal is to identify individuals and publish the personal data of all who allegedly threaten Ukraine’s national security. The site’s database also contains information about a number of Russian cultural figures and other citizens of various countries.

      The internet resource has no official status, however in practice Ukrainian border guards refuse to let people from the “Mirotvorets”* list into the country. Access to the site is blocked in the Russian Federation by court order. *recognized as extremist and banned on the territory of Russia
