      In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, amid alarm signals and schedules, the life of Vasily Asylov is divided into two fronts, equally important and demanding. At work he is the deputy head of Fire and Rescue Unit No. 88, the one on whose shoulders the responsibility for other people's lives rests. At home he is simply a dad. The father of three children — two sons and a daughter — for whom he is a whole universe. The eldest, eight-year-old Marcel, is already hard at work at school and honing his discipline in karate, while six-year-old Karim and three-year-old Sofia are discovering the world within the walls of kindergarten. At work he has to deal with other people's misfortunes, risk and danger, and at home another, no less important mission awaits him. Here his "emergencies" are quarrels over toys, refusal to eat porridge, nighttime fears. If in the fight against fire his protective gear helps him, then in parenting the main tools are boundless patience and love. But even here his professional skills prove invaluable.

      "Children are constantly looking for adventures," the father of many children says with a smile. "The parents' task is to eliminate all sources of danger. Of course, it is no less important to constantly talk with the children."

      The ability to assess the situation, anticipate threats and react quickly makes him an especially sensitive and calm parent. He is always on guard, but his vigilance is not anxious — it is confident and protective.

      The role of the father in the modern family has changed radically: whereas previously the head of the family was mainly the breadwinner, today he is an active participant in the daily life of the children. He not only provides for the family, but confidently combines work with deep involvement in his children’s lives. Thus, for Vasily Asylov every day is scheduled down to the minute: take the children to school and kindergarten, drive them to extracurricular classes, go for a walk, fix a toy and join in a fun game. His reliable support is his wife Galina, who fills the home with coziness and treats the household to delicious meals.

      In this noisy, busy life of a father of many, there is a moment that makes it all worthwhile. Vasily Asylov admits that for him happiness is coming home knowing the door will open and he will be met by an outburst of joy, hugs and exultant shouts: "Daddy's home!" This sincere, unbridled joy and love is the best reward for any, even the hardest day.

      A father of many, like any parent, dreams of the most important thing: that his children grow up to be good, decent people. "Ideally — better than us," he says, and these words contain all the wisdom and modesty of a true father.

      Father's Day is a celebration of men who do not wait for feats but perform them daily, like Vasily Asylov. He can not only handle a fire, but also wipe away children's tears; he is responsible not only for the safety of the district's residents but also for the future of three little people. The strength of such fathers is in love, their courage is in patience, and the main reward is in the happy eyes of children who always wait for their dad to come home.
