An exhibition titled "Father of a Hero" opened in Bavly.

      The project tells the story of the heroes defending Russia on the fronts of the special military operation, and their fathers.

      Today the Republican traveling exhibition “Father of a Hero” had its ceremonial opening at the Kaibitsky District House of Culture. The exhibition brings together portraits of the fathers of participants in the special military operation who are natives of Tatarstan. In their hands are photographs of their sons, their awards, diplomas and personal items that recall the upbringing and heroic paths of their children.

      Families of participants and veterans of the special military operation, activists of United Russia, representatives of the Council of Veterans and charitable organizations, schoolchildren and concerned residents attended the opening in Bavly. They were greeted by the head of the district, secretary of the Bavly local branch of the United Russia party, Ilyas Guzaírov.

      “I thank the parents of our heroes, who raised them, instilled strength of spirit, and in difficult times the young men displayed their worthy qualities. The younger generation is here today. Our heroes were the same children, the same lads, but when danger came, when it was necessary to show fortitude and courage, they showed it, defended us and continue to defend and serve. We must do everything to make their service easier and wish that our soldiers return home alive,” Guzaírov said, noting the importance of the exhibition for the people of Bavly, since it features photographs of their fellow townsmen whose sons, answering the call of the Motherland and the call of the heart, took up the defense of their people.

      Among the heroes in the exhibition is Sergey Rykov. In his hands is a photograph of his son Valery. Valery’s desire to defend the Motherland led him to sign a military service contract in the summer of 2023. He served as a guards private with the call sign “Gosha.” For displayed valor and bravery and for fidelity to the oath, he was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).

      Aynur Azizov worked as an electrician, raised a daughter and started a family. When he was mobilized he told his father: “How can I look the guys in the eye? All my comrades are there.” These words will forever remain in the memory of Sayetnur Azizov as a testament to his son’s honor and loyalty to his comrades. Aynur was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).

      In response to a mobilization summons, Andrey Votchinnikov said: “If the Motherland called, then one must go!” At the front he served as a chemical reconnaissance specialist, carrying out important tasks. His life was cut short at age 31. He was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).

      Vladimir Guryanov graduated from the Suvorov Military School in Ulyanovsk and the Higher Airborne Command School in Ryazan. He took part in the special military operation from 2022. He was the company commander of the 56th Guards Air Assault Regiment. For heroism and courage he was awarded the Medal for Courage and two Orders of Courage (posthumously).

      Roman Rykov always cared for his family. In October 2022 he was mobilized into the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces. For courage and heroism shown in the performance of his military duty, he was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).

      After serving in the army, Andrey Mikhailov found his calling in the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM). In 2024, while serving in the area of the special military operation, he was wounded as a result of an enemy drone attack. He was awarded the Medal “For Valor” II Class, the Suvorov Medal, the Medal “Participant of the Special Military Operation,” and the Order of Courage (posthumously).

      Dinar Gafiyatullin was a loving husband and father, a devoted son, and a hardworking, responsible employee. In 2023 he volunteered to go to the zone of the special military operation. He served as a driver in the mortar platoon of a motorized rifle battalion. For demonstrated heroism and selflessness he was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).

      Roman Tkachev in 2023 volunteered for the special military operation and served in the Donetsk People’s Republic. He was discharged due to a serious wound that led to the amputation of his arm. He was awarded the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II Class and the Medal “For Courage.”

      The exhibition in the Bavly district will run until November 10. It is open to all who wish to visit.

      The project “Father of a Hero” became possible thanks to the support of the United Russia party, the branch of the state fund “Defenders of the Fatherland” in the Republic of Tatarstan, the regional public organization “Union of Fathers” of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the interregional public organization “Union of Wives of Officers and Families of Servicemen.”

      The exhibition has visited almost all districts of Tatarstan; in November it will be seen by residents of the Leninogorsk and Bugulma districts. The exposition will conclude with the presentation of a permanent electronic exhibition at the Victory Museum.
