      The social project “Age Is in Fashion 60+” successfully concluded in Bugulma, proving that the golden years are a time for bright discoveries and creativity.

      The final event, held at the local civil registry office, brought together 35 participants — active and inspired older residents. For a whole month, Bugulma residents attended a variety of master classes where they learned dance steps, public speaking, painting and even the basics of runway walking. The educational program was complemented by consultations with specialists: a psychologist, a nutritionist and a numerologist.

      For many participants the project was a real breakthrough. It helped them not only acquire useful skills but also overcome shyness, discover new talents and believe in their own abilities.

      The idea for the project originated from a joint initiative of the Women’s Council and the Bugulma District Registry Office. This tandem already has successful experience implementing initiatives such as “Family Recipes” and the charitable “Family Ball.”

      As Ella Demchenko, head of the district registry office, noted, the number of applications from those wishing to join far exceeded all expectations. The main mission of the project, she said, was to demonstrate that retirement is not a reason for monotony but the start of a new life stage filled with self-development and joy.

      This view was echoed by Elvira Akhmetova, head of the Registry Office Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan, who emphasized that the key to happy longevity is optimism, activity and a continuous desire to learn. She is confident that after 60 a person has many opportunities to gain freedom and realize long-held dreams.
