The Kaleb Association is organizing a memorial concert for Haydar Bigichev at the Tatar Philharmonic.

      At the Tatar State Philharmonic named after Gabdulla Tukay the creative association "Kaleb," as part of the "Kaytavaz" ("Echo") concert series, will stage on November 13 a concert dedicated to People's Artist of the Tatar ASSR Haydar Bigichev. The organizers spoke about the upcoming concert at a press conference at the Union of Composers of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      According to Kazan deputy mayor Guzel Sagitova, the "Kaytavaz" concerts are a good opportunity to honor outstanding figures, revive in people’s hearts the songs of past years and provide a platform for a new generation of performers.

      "The main goal of 'Kaleb' is to showcase young people, help them find their audience, and also to introduce them to each other. Last year Zulfiya Avzalova-Nigmatzyanova suggested organizing a joint project — we also needed a project with a good, deep meaning. Thus the 'Kaytavaz' project was born. At first it was supposed to be just one concert, but we decided to continue it as a series," she said.

      The two previous concerts were dedicated to Alfia Avzalova and Ilham Shakirov. Guzel Sagitova explained that the dedication of the third concert to Haydar Bigichev was due not only to the singer’s rich legacy but also to the lack of proper attention paid to him.

      "The Tatar people have many great figures, and they sometimes lack attention. For example, last year was Haydar Bigichev’s jubilee year, but we did not mark it with large events," she said.

      The scriptwriter of the concert is poet and playwright Rezeda Gubaeva. She said that after studying recollections of Haydar Bigichev she discovered him as a person who spoke little, worked a lot and always brought his work to the proper level.

      "Having read recollections about Haydar abıy, I discovered him as a person who spoke little and worked a lot. He had the qualities of a real man. Every gifted person has a mission, and their life path brings them to the necessary point. When Haydar abıy worked at a factory, he accidentally came into the world of song, and he was noticed. But was it an accident? At the concert we will seek an answer to that question," she said.

      Bulat Gataullin, an actor of the Kazan Tatar State Theater for Young Spectators named after Gabdulla Kariev, admitted that he was at a loss when he was offered to become the director of the concert.

      "When I was invited to be the director of the concert dedicated to Haydar abıy, I became nervous, because for me he is a personality who stands very high. When his name is spoken, notions of 'high taste,' 'nobility' come to mind. As if he is unattainable," he said.

      According to him, Haydar Bigichev is not very well known among young people.

      "Haydar abıy, it seems, is not very well known. Our generation knows his songs well, but young people — not so much. Therefore we will try to reveal Haydar abıy at the concert through his songs, letters and video recordings," the director added.

      The concert will feature Filyus Kagirov, Aidar Suleymanov, Artur Islamov, Elza Zayari, Ilgiz Shaykhraziev, Ilyusa Khuzina, Azat Karimov, Alina Karimova, Ilgiz Mukhutdinov, Almas Khusainov, Syumbel Kiyamova, Dinar Sharafutdinov, Rustam Khusainov, and the orchestra of the Tatar State Drama and Comedy Theater named after Karim Tinchurin.
