      Kazan gymnast Daniel Marinov finished third in the parallel bars at the 2025 World Championships. The Russian scored 14.466 points, which earned him the bronze medal.

      First place went to China’s Zou Jingyuan (15.3), second to Japan’s Tomoharu Tsunogai (14.5). Another Russian, Vladislav Polyashov, took sixth place with a score of 13.966.

      For Marinov this was his first international tournament. In the individual all-around Daniel placed seventh. After that event Marinov complained about biased judging. “To be honest, they were sometimes padding the Swiss. Or rather, no — they were giving them normal scores, but they were specifically downgrading me. I’m not saying this to make excuses, I’m just stating the facts,” he said on Match TV.

      This is Russia’s fourth medal at the tournament. Earlier Angelina Melnikova won the vault and the individual all-around, and also took silver on the parallel bars.

      Marinov is a native of Sofia, Bulgaria. As a child he moved to Russia with his mother. Marinov holds dual citizenship (Bulgarian and Russian), but represents Russia at international competitions. Daniel lives in Kazan and represents Tatarstan at national competitions.
