Consideration of bids from potential buyers has already begun, the company’s press service said. — PJSC Lukoil reports that, in connection with some countries having imposed restrictive measures against the company and its subsidiaries, the company announces its intention to sell its international assets. Lukoil emphasized that the sale of assets is being carried out in accordance with an OFAC license (the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury) for winding down operations. If necessary, the company plans to apply for an extension of the license term to ensure uninterrupted operation of its international assets. U.S. sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil, as well as their subsidiaries, were imposed on October 22. The U.S. Treasury said the sanctions are connected to “Russia’s lack of serious interest in a peaceful process” over Ukraine and warned of possible additional measures.
