The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the Palestinian movement Hamas of forgery in the handover of a hostage’s remains. Information about this appeared on the website of the office of the head of the Israeli government.
The day before, Hamas handed over in Gaza a coffin with the remains of Omer Tzarfati. The body had been returned to his homeland by Israeli forces at the end of 2023. The prime minister’s office statement says that Hamas’s actions are a clear violation of the agreement.

Benjamin Netanyahu plans to discuss with the leadership of Israel’s Ministry of Defense possible retaliatory measures in response to Hamas’s actions. Meanwhile, on October 21 U.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington’s allies in the Middle East are ready to send troops into the Gaza Strip if Hamas violates the terms of the peace agreement. According to Trump, large military forces could be deployed to resolve the situation.
