It is planned that the session will take place from September 30 to October 1, 2026, and will bring together not only CIS representatives but also the Prosecutors General of the SCO countries.
In the autumn of 2026 Kazan will host a key event in the field of international legal cooperation – the 36th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General (CCPG) of the CIS participating states. The decision was announced by the new chairman of the council, Russia’s Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan, who thanked his colleagues for supporting his candidacy. “Kazan has been chosen as the venue for the upcoming summit. It is one of the most beautiful Russian cities with a rich history, where a diversity of cultures and religions harmoniously coexist,” Gutsan said, TASS reports.
The new CCPG chairman assured colleagues that he will make every effort to develop constructive dialogue. Special words of gratitude were addressed to the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan, Habibullo Vohidzoda, for his hospitality and for organizing the current meeting.
It should be noted that the event, scheduled for late September–early October, will gain particular significance due to the parallel holding of a meeting of the Prosecutors General of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). According to Gutsan, this format will give the dialogue a new substantive level and open up opportunities for a wide exchange of views on the most pressing issues of prosecutorial activity.
Recall that in September Gutsan, the presidential envoy to the Northwestern Federal District, was appointed to the post of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
