“There are no obstacles to true love”: a fighter from Bashkortostan serving in the Special Military Operation held his wedding in Aktanysh.
At the Aktanysh District Registry Office, the marriage was registered between participant in the special military operation Timur Shayakhmetov and native of Aktanysh Alsu Galiyeva. The new family was congratulated by the head of the registry office, Gulfina Mukhamadieva.
She presented the newlyweds with a marriage certificate and a commemorative gift – a luxurious edition of a book of recipes for Tatar national dishes, prepared with the support of Rais of Tatarstan.
The head of the Aktanysh municipal district, Lenar Zaripov, also came to congratulate the couple.
“Today is a special day in your life. May your union become an example, and may your home be filled with warmth, care and respect. Thank you, Timur, for your service and loyalty to the Motherland. Live happily, following the example of your parents. May the Bashkir and Tatar peoples, like your families, live in peace and harmony,” he said, presenting the newlyweds with chak-chak and flowers as symbols of domestic comfort.
Timur is a native of the village of Yonny in the Ilishevsky District of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Before mobilization he worked at Gazprom in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. In September 2022 he was conscripted to the SVO zone. He served in Donetsk and took part in the liberation of settlements. Today Warrant Officer Shayakhmetov serves at the headquarters, collecting and analyzing information.
“Service is hard… The hardest thing is losing friends…” he admits.
In April 2023 he was wounded by shrapnel while defending a bridge in the settlement of Pervomaysky; after treatment he returned to the ranks. For the successful completion of a combat mission he was awarded the Suvorov Medal. At the end of 2023 he sustained a second wound.
Timur began his military service as a conscript — in a tank regiment in Khabarovsk Krai — and later continued in Rostov.
Timur met Alsu through her brother Damir, a close friend of the serviceman. Several years of friendship grew into a strong feeling that endured the test of separation.
Alsu graduated from Aktanysh’s First School, then from a technological college, and works in Naberezhnye Chelny. During Timur’s service she visited him in Donetsk.
“Donetsk is a beautiful city. Much has been rebuilt, life is returning. I was always worried, but over time I got used to it. The main thing is to be close, respect and support each other,” the young woman says.
With warm emotions, the relatives recall the couple’s path to this day. “The young people have been together for several years. We were waiting for this wedding and are very happy,” said the bride’s mother, Raylya Galiyeva.
Alsu’s father, Vasil Galiyev, said the wedding had been planned back in 2022, but mobilization intervened. “There are no barriers to true love,” he said.
The groom’s father, Rail Shayakhmetov, is proud of his son and recalls that he once served in a motorized rifle company in Transbaikalia.
“Timur has been disciplined and responsible since childhood. We are proud of him and wish the young couple only happiness,” he noted.
Registry office head Gulfina Mukhamadieva added that this year the district had more marriages than divorces, and pointed out an important trend: “It is especially pleasing that men who decided to serve in the SVO seek to restore families. This speaks to strength of spirit and strong family values.”
The celebration ended with the couple’s first dance, warm congratulations and flowers from relatives.
