From classics to neural networks: what TV journalists will learn at the "Kamsky Breeze" festival
About 200 reports were submitted to the "Kamsky Breeze" festival competition
"New faces and stars have appeared on the TV skyline"
This year, about 200 reports, programs and video clips were submitted to the competition. Works are judged in five categories: news program, report, presenter, videography, and the special category "Heroes." The jury has already reviewed the participants' works.
"We are pleased with the level of participants this year. New faces and stars have appeared on the TV skyline," noted jury member, Deputy General Director for News Broadcasting of JSC TRC "Novy Vek" Svetlana Kadyrova.
Svetlana, together with assistants, well-known stylists and makeup artists, will conduct her workshop at the festival, "Presenter's Individual Style: from Beauty Secrets and On-Camera Image to Presenting Style." TV presenters will learn how to become perfect on air in just 15 minutes and always be fully prepared.
"'Parquet' shoots and creativity in political communications"
"'Punk rock in electoral politics: a creative approach to communication' — that is the title of the master class by jury member, co-owner of the media 'KAEN' Roman Korolev." He will tell journalists how to build sustainable communication with young people online and how to talk to them about complex topics such as elections and politics. He will also talk about how to make political phenomena a contemporary trend.
"I'm glad to be on the festival jury again. There have been many unexpected discoveries among the contestants for me. Journalists, camera operators and presenters — well done; it's nice that they use in their work the techniques I talked about in my master classes at our previous festival meetings. We'll analyze the works, give advice. May the strongest win!" said jury member, head of the VGTRK correspondent bureau in Kazan Almaz Khakimov.
His master class "Parquet Shoots: Pros and Cons. How to Make a Good Report?" will help journalists professionally and interestingly cover the activities of local authorities on TV.
"An opportunity to meet and talk"
Special correspondent and war correspondent of JSC TRC "Novy Vek" Zufar Davletshin evaluates the entrants' works in the "Heroes" category. This category was established in memory of Nizhnekamsk journalist Aleksandr Komarov, who died in the special military operation. At the festival, Zufar will analyze the contestants' works and give practical advice to those covering the special military operation.
"This festival is not so much a competition, a creative contest, as an opportunity to meet and talk. We all keep to our own bubbles and often don't know what life is like in other regions of the republic. And by speaking in person during the festival days, we feel a journalistic community. Unfortunately, this festival remains the only opportunity for the republic's TV people to meet informally, to communicate without regard to positions, ranks, or titles. Experienced journalists can, over these days rather than hours, share their knowledge and get energized themselves by interacting with novice, energetic, idea-filled colleagues," Zufar told us.
How to use AI in everyday TV work
This year, journalists arriving at the festival will find not only classic television training topics. Experts from the Tatmedia media holding will conduct their workshop: "Neural Networks and TV. How to Use AI in Everyday Work."
"Our TV people are skeptical about video generation. And that is understandable. However, neural networks can be assistants in creating a television product. This is not about replacing live, real video, by any means. It is about generation coming to the rescue where shooting is impossible, or when existing footage cannot be used due to copyright. We'll talk about this and more at the festival, show examples and give advice," said jury member, Deputy General Director of JSC "Tatmedia" Natalya Redzhep-Aliyeva.
