      The prosecutor’s office of the Kirovsky district of Kazan has sent to court a criminal case of fraud in a correctional facility. A 33-year-old inmate, a previously convicted native of Chuvashia, deceived a cellmate out of 380,000 rubles by promising to resolve issues related to transfer back to a colony through FSIN employees.

      The victim, serving a sentence for attempted drug trafficking, handed over the money after he became a persistent violator of the regime. The accused, having no real ability to influence the situation, appropriated the funds. He fully admitted guilt and reimbursed the damage. The case will be heard on the merits in court.
