In Tatarstan, the number of cyber fraud cases has been increasing since September.

      The number of frauds committed over the internet has increased in Tatarstan, said Radis Yusupov, an operative for especially important cases in the Fraud Detection Department of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, during a press conference at Tatar-inform.

      “In August there was a decrease in the number of frauds committed using telephone communication and the internet, but from September to October there was an increase. In August 866 criminal cases of fraud were opened, 203 related to thefts from bank cards. In September — 903 criminal cases of fraud and 262 cases of card thefts. In October the number of crimes increased again: 1,046 fraud cases and 255 cases related to thefts from bank cards,” he said.

      According to the agency, in the first 10 months of 2025, 10,620 fraud cases and 2,521 criminal cases of thefts from bank cards were opened in Tatarstan.

      Most often, frauds are carried out through the hacking of a personal account on the Gosuslugi portal, Radis Yusupov noted.
