      A warm autumn campaign in support of our feathered friends took place at the Spassky residential care home for the elderly and disabled. Under the guidance of labor instructor Maria Kleshcheva, residents crafted a variety of bird feeders that now decorate the institution’s grounds.

      The event’s special guest was a specialist from the Spassky reserve, Lyubov Murzak. She told those gathered about the region’s wintering birds, their habits and ways to help them in the cold season. The conversation was lively and interesting — many of the elderly added their own observations about the birds they regularly see during walks.

      “Our residents put not only skill but also their hearts into each feeder,” Maria Kleshcheva shared. “For many, it became a true creative discovery. And now they will have a wonderful opportunity to watch the birds, feed them, and feel needed.”

      After the workshop, the campaign participants cheerfully hung the finished feeders on trees, filling them with treats for the birds. Now daily observation of their feathered guests will become a new pleasant pastime for the care home’s residents, brightening the autumn and winter days.
