      Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the city of Huzhou in China, where he held a meeting with the secretary of the city’s Communist Party of China committee, Chen Hao. This was reported by the head of the Rais of RT’s press service, Liliya Galimova.

      Minnikhanov noted that he was visiting the city for the first time and spoke about the republic, emphasizing that Tatarstan is expanding its portfolio of joint innovative and industrial projects with the PRC and is ready to cooperate with Huzhou companies.

      Committee Secretary Chen Hao conveyed to Minnikhanov the warmest greetings from the city’s leadership. He reminded that Huzhou is one of the “Four Silk Capitals of China,” where large-scale production of batteries, chemical fibers and construction materials is concentrated.

      Thanks to its proximity to the Grand Canal and Lake Taihu, the city is an important logistics and trade hub in China.

      “We sincerely hope that your visit will become a stimulus for the development of economic relations between our regions. And I am sure your work makes a substantial contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and China,” Chen Hao stressed.

      He also said that he had previously been to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, but had not yet visited Tatarstan. In response, Minnikhanov invited Chen Hao not only to visit the republic but also to take part in the ROSTKI forum.
