The 15th Conference of Dermatovenereologists and Cosmetologists of the Volga Federal District concluded in Kazan.

      At the opening, participants were welcomed by Alexey Kubanov, President of the Russian Society of Dermatovenereologists and Cosmetologists, Director of the FSBI "State Research Center for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He noted that the dermatovenereology service plays an important role in maintaining the population’s health and that the conference’s work will contribute to the further development of practical healthcare, the dissemination of advanced technologies and methods in modern medicine.

      Rustem Khasanov, Director of the Kazan State Medical Academy – a branch of the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Development (RMANPO) of the Ministry of Health of Russia, also addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech.

      “Events of the highest level such as this are held here regularly; the significance of this conference is the collegial search for solutions to problems related to skin health and its appendages, diagnosis and treatment of diseases together with related specialists. Joint work on a number of the most important directions of scientific and practical activity benefits the common cause and improves the quality of medical care for patients to the benefit of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia as a whole.”

      During the ceremonial opening, before the start of the scientific program, RKKVD employees were honored for impeccable years of service, dedication and a major contribution to the development of the dermatovenereology service.

      The scientific program of the conference was opened by Deputy Chief Physician for Outpatient Services Guzel Vafina with a report on the experience of GAUZ “RKKVD” in improving the efficiency and quality of the work of the dermatologist in the Republic of Tatarstan, the problems and ways to solve them.

      Deputy Chief Physician for Medical Affairs Evgenia Bildyuk, within the framework of a satellite symposium, presented a report on the strategy for managing a female patient with psoriasis in real clinical practice.

      Over two days of an intensive scientific program, physicians discussed current issues in the diagnosis and therapy of common dermatoses and urogenital infections. They got acquainted with rare and interesting clinical cases. The conference organizers prepared a full program of sectional sessions on the most topical subjects important for practicing physicians.

      The conference was attended by heads of dermatovenerologic dispensaries, heads and staff of departments of dermatovenereology, academicians, professors and dermatovenereologists from regions of the Russian Federation. The number of physicians at the conference was about 400.

      As part of the conference, Leisan Galiaskarova, Head of the Center for Professional Competencies (CPC) and dermatologist-venereologist-oncologist, conducted a master class on obtaining biopsy material for histological studies using realistic simulators.

      The conference was organized at a high level; the innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of dermatoses and sexually transmitted infections presented will undoubtedly be used in professional practice.
