      In Naberezhnye Chelny, at today's city council session the question of electing the head of the executive committee was not considered. The reason was the absence of one of the candidates due to health reasons. As explained by the city mayor Nail Magdeev, the director of the Road Maintenance Enterprise, Ilya Cherkashin, submitted a statement of his inability to participate in the meeting. "According to the regulations, it is impossible to consider the matter without the presence of the candidate for the post of head of the executive committee," the mayor emphasized. As a result, one item was removed from the session's agenda: the city council will consider eight items instead of nine. In addition to Ilya Cherkashin, the current head of the executive committee, Farid Salahov, is vying for the city manager position.
