The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan has 1,096 electric vehicles.

      In 2025, 281 electric cars were entered into the parking permits registry in the capital of Tatarstan. According to the city Committee for Transport, the total number of registered electric cars reached 1,096 units. Owners of such vehicles are entitled to free parking in municipal parking spaces, except for spaces designated for people with disabilities. Statistics show a steady increase in the popularity of eco-friendly transport: 275 electric cars were registered in 2024, 288 in 2023, and 124 in 2022. To be included in the registry, owners must submit to the Committee for Transport, an MFC (multifunctional public services center) or via the Republic of Tatarstan public services portal a package of documents including a Russian passport, the vehicle registration certificate and the vehicle technical passport. The benefit does not apply to owners of hybrid vehicles and has been in effect since 2015.
