      Russians have become more actively interested in countryside leisure in the republic: over the year traffic to the websites of local recreation centers increased by 10%. The leaders by dynamics were the northern regions. In Buryatia, Tomsk and Irkutsk regions the volume of inquiries to resources offering ecotourism grew 3–10 times, analysts at MegaFon found after studying anonymized user data.

      Among the entire audience of the sites Muscovites predominate — they account for 13% of total visits. Close behind them, with a minimal lag, are users from Chuvashia, forming 12% of user traffic. Rounding out the top three are the operator’s subscribers from Ulyanovsk region, whose contribution to the statistics is 10%.

      Almost every second visitor to online resources with countryside complexes is a person aged 35–44. Representatives of the 25–34 group make up more than 22% of all entrants, and users 45–54 years old — 19%. Young people under 24 make up 9%, and people over 55 — 5%. Men plan trips 38% more often than women.

      When choosing a place, guests from other regions prefer a comfortable rest. Universal offers are in demand, including accommodation in cozy houses or a hotel, the availability of spa services and opportunities for active leisure, for example, playing padel tennis. At the same time interest in traditional formats remains high: authentic bases attract guests with fishing, a banya, horseback rides and national cuisine.

      “Modern leisure, even the most comfortable, can no longer be imagined without access to communication and the internet. Taking this into account, we are implementing an internal program to develop the network in popular tourist locations. The next step within this initiative was the commissioning of a telecommunications facility in the village of Opushka. Here, on the shore of the Nizhnekamsk Reservoir, popular complexes operate that are regularly visited by a large number of vacationers,” said Mikhail Rusinov, MegaFon director in Tatarstan.

      The dense forest mass, which previously impeded the passage of signals from base stations, is no longer an obstacle. Now the operator’s mobile connection is available both in the village itself and in numerous recreation centers.
