The Rosreestr of Tatarstan recommended checking information about one's real estate in the Unified State Register of Real Estate (EGRN).

      Due to the December 1, 2025 deadline for payment of property taxes, the Office of Rosreestr for the Republic of Tatarstan recommends that citizens ensure all their real estate objects are recorded correctly.

      You can check the information on your real estate objects through the list of your properties in the Unified State Register of Real Estate (EGRN). This can be done via the Personal Account on the Gosuslugi portal or on the Rosreestr website. Then you should compare the obtained data with what is indicated in the taxpayer’s Personal Account in the “Property” section on the website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia. It is recommended to verify the characteristics of each object: type, address, area, cadastral number, cadastral value, etc.

      If discrepancies are found, a corresponding application must be submitted. To correct information in the EGRN it can be sent via the Rosreestr or Gosuslugi portals. To update data with the tax authority — via the Federal Tax Service’s Personal Account for taxpayers.

      Rosreestr notes that the characteristics “type of object” and “permitted use type of the object” can significantly affect its cadastral value and, consequently, the calculation of the annual property tax.

      According to Deputy Head of the Rosreestr Office for the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Paramonov, special attention should be paid when it comes to parking spaces and storage rooms located in apartment buildings and in non-residential buildings and structures.

      “The concept of ‘parking space’ entered civil circulation in 2017 and is contained in paragraph 29 of Article 1 of the Town Planning Code of the Russian Federation. Therefore, prior to that date all objects meeting the characteristics of parking spaces were registered as premises. To bring the type of an object into compliance with current legislation, the owner must submit an ‘application to change the type of object,’ without attaching any technical conclusions and without paying a state fee.

      For premises that are in fact storage rooms, owners, by filing an application to change characteristics, can enter the permitted use type ‘Storeroom,’ paying a state fee of 1,000 rubles, after which the cadastral value will also be recalculated,” Paramonov says.
