The "Eastern Bazaar" festival has concluded in Kazan.

      A gala concert of the "Eastern Bazaar" festival was held at the Pyramid Cultural and Recreational Complex in Kazan.

      The festival’s closing ceremony included the participation of the festival’s general producer, director of the Rashit Vagapov Public Fund of Tatar Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and professor at the Kazan State Institute of Culture, Rifat Fattakhov. He thanked the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan for support and assistance, and the participants and audience for their active participation.

      “Thank you very much! The 12-day festival marathon 'Eastern Bazaar' in Kazan is coming to an end. It’s hard to believe — these 12 days passed in the blink of an eye. These days for us have become not only a moment of unity for our countries, our regions, our peoples, our cultures, but also a moment of unity of our hearts,” he said.

      According to the general producer of the "Eastern Bazaar", 326 artists from various countries and regions took part in today’s concert.

      Groups, singers and dancers performed on stage from regions of Russia (LPR, the Republic of Crimea, the Chechen Republic, Kalmykia, Khakassia, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Ingushetia, Tuva and Altai), Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Abkhazia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Serbia, India and Gagauzia.

      Almost all participants performed dances and songs in national costumes and also with the musical instruments of their peoples. Thus, the vocal duet of Yevdokia and Ilya Kesya from Gagauzia presented a song accompanied by the national Moldovan instrument — the nai.

      “We came from the city of Comrat. The Gagauz are a people living in the south of Moldova. Turkic-speaking, but Orthodox by faith. This year we came to Tatarstan for the first time, and this is our first time participating in this international festival. We performed our original song in the Gagauz language. ‘Birlik’ translates as ‘unity’. We are very happy to be in Kazan; we would also like to visit Turkey with a concert,” they said.

      Dancers of the Derbent ensemble from Dagestan presented Avar and Kumyk dances. The group’s artistic director, Murat Talibov, emphasized that the international festival was held at the highest level.

      “Each country and each ensemble has its own aesthetics, its own color, so every number was liked in its own way. We had time to get acquainted with participants from Serbia, China and Lebanon,” Talibov said.

      The musical duo of the Gobovich sisters from Belgrade (Serbia) expressed gratitude and appreciation to Tatarstan for organizing the festival. Maria and Marina noted that they will return to Kazan next year.

      “We have already performed concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg and had wonderful impressions in both cities, so we would like to visit them again, as well as Kazan, with which we have left beautiful memories from this festival. Today we performed a song in Serbian, ‘I Want to Sing’, written by Marina. It is about love for music and dance, and also about how, however hard it sometimes is, there is salvation in music. In general, our music speaks about faith, traditions, family values and love,” the singer sisters shared.

      It should be noted that the "Eastern Bazaar" festival started in the capital of Tatarstan in 2022 and brought together 20 countries and regions.
