In the Novosheshminsky District of Tatarstan, plans are underway to recreate a historic fortress built in 1610. This was reported by the district head, Yegor Tarnavsky, at a meeting with journalists in Kazan. The project became one of the winners of a grant for the development of unique municipal practices and the preservation of traditions. Five million rubles will be allocated next year to implement the plan. Sketches are already ready: the fortress will feature wooden buildings, entrance gates, observation towers and a courtyard. According to Tarnavsky, the restoration of the fortress will give a boost to tourism in the district. In addition, construction of the central mosque is planned to be completed in February 2026.
