16.12.2025 – 11.01.2026
Admission to the museum ticket (600 rubles, 300 rubles – concession)
An exhibition about how light has accompanied people for millennia and changed their everyday life, culture and worldview.
The exhibition presents the journey from ancient oil lamps and splinters of wood to candelabra, kerosene lamps, street lamps and modern LED technologies. Special attention is given to light objects from the "Galeev-Prometheus" collection, works by Kazan artist Vladimir Guryanov dedicated to light, as well as a model of a power plant from "Tatenergo" — a clear example of how energy is generated and how light comes into our homes.
Children can follow a fairytale route that takes them on an exciting journey through the world of light and fire, revealing the history of lighting devices — from primitive torches to modern electric lamps. As part of the program, children get acquainted with living objects, each of which symbolizes a particular stage or source of light: Spark, Splinter, Candelabrum, Kerosene Lamp, as well as Darkness, which must be overcome. During the journey, young participants go through themed stages — a cave with rock paintings, an ancient dwelling, a ballroom, the 19th century period and a smart home — creating their own lanterns and completing tasks as they uncover the secrets of lighting history. The finale is the gathering of all participants to light up the final themes and meet Grandfather Frost (Ded Moroz) and the Snow Maiden (Snegurochka) by the New Year tree. Age of participants – from 5 to 10 years.
