Trump announced an upcoming conversation with Putin and a meeting with Zelensky.

      The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

      “I think it will go well with him. I think it will go well with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin,” the American leader said in an interview with Politico.

      Trump specified that he expects to have the conversation with the President of the Russian Federation “as soon as” he himself wants.

      At the same time, Donald Trump expressed confidence that the Russian economy is “in bad shape, in very bad shape.”

      The U.S. president reacted skeptically to the version of the American peace plan in 20 points proposed by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

      “He (Zelensky — ed. note) will have nothing until I approve it. So we’ll see what he has,” Trump remarked, while also expressing hope for a positive meeting.

      Earlier, Axios journalist Barak Ravid, known for his scoops, reported on a meeting between Zelensky and Trump planned for Sunday at the latter’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

      Later the portal reported on online talks scheduled for Saturday between the U.S. president, the leader of Ukraine and a number of European politicians.
