      Due to heavy snowfall and wind, a temporary traffic restriction was imposed on the federal highway in Alkeyevsky District. On the stretch near the settlement of Appakovo on the border with Spassky District and Ulyanovsk Oblast, a difficult situation developed for drivers of freight vehicles. To assist motorists, officers of the Main Directorate of the Russian EMERCOM for the Republic of Tatarstan, together with local authorities, promptly deployed a mobile heating and feeding point. Twenty truckers were able to receive hot meals and warm up there. At the same time, tow trucks were working on the highway to pull vehicles out of snowdrifts, and traffic police officers coordinated traffic.

      At the moment, the restrictions in the neighboring territory of Ulyanovsk Oblast have been lifted, traffic in the Appakovo area has been restored, and no congestion is observed. In total, 175 stationary and mobile heating points are ready to operate in Tatarstan for such situations. Rescuers recommend that residents of the republic, if possible, postpone non-essential long trips in the coming days due to continuing bad weather and difficult road conditions.
