In Tatarstan, two endangered swans were rescued.
In Tatarstan, a resident of Almetyevsk and inspectors from the Southeast helped save Red Book-listed mute swans that failed to migrate for the winter. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
At the Almetyevsk reservoir, a local resident noticed two mute swans that had not flown off for the winter. Inspectors from the Southeast Directorate helped organize the transport of the birds.
The animals lived with eco-activist Denis Maksimov. He provided them with comfortable conditions: he personally fed and cared for the birds. They have now been relocated to an eco-farm.
"At times like this true human compassion shows. Help and kindness must come above all," noted Southeast inspector Alina Zalyaltdinova.
The mute swan is a member of the duck family, leading a sedentary lifestyle. It is the largest among the entire order Anseriformes. It is listed in the Red Book of Tatarstan.
