A violator from Yelabuga will pay 132,000 rubles for dumping sewage.
Earlier the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received a complaint from residents about the discharge of sewage in Yelabuga. Inspectors from the Prikam Regional Office went to the site on Chulman Street.
During the inspection of the area the violation was confirmed. Ecologists discovered a reinforced-concrete manhole from which sewage was being discharged onto the terrain. The area of the contaminated site amounted to 26 square meters.
Specialists from the Environmental Supervision Support Department collected soil samples from the contaminated and clean areas for comparison. According to laboratory tests, at the discharge site there were exceedances of chloride ions by 1.5 times, nitrite nitrogen by 3.6 times, and the total content of divalent and trivalent iron by 15.8 times.
Inspectors calculated the amount of damage caused to the soil. It amounted to 132 thousand rubles. The land plot is owned by a private individual.
Ecologists sent a warning and a claim to the offender. The discharge from the manhole stopped, but the amount of damage was not paid.
The Prikam Regional Office filed a lawsuit with the Yelabuga City Court of the Republic of Tatarstan. The court upheld the Ministry's claims and ordered the landowner to pay the amount of damage.
