      The idea was discussed with State Duma deputy Ilya Volfson during a visit to Gymnasium No. 125.

      The parliamentarian came to the educational institution to assess the quality of the major renovation. The major school renovation program has been implemented since 2022 at the instruction of President Vladimir Putin. United Russia and the Ministry of Education, together with the regions, are renewing school infrastructure across the country. Funding comes from the federal budget under the "Development of Education" program and the party project "New School." By the end of 2025, 5,635 schools had already been renovated nationwide, Ilya Volfson clarified on his Telegram channel.

      "I specially came in the middle of the school year to see, as they say, not 'by fresh paint,' but several months after the completion of the work. Such a test drive in real conditions is the real check. I invited the contractor and a representative of the parent committee to the meeting so that all comments and suggestions could be discussed on the spot," the State Duma deputy reported.

      The politician noted that the school, built in 1988, was the first in the Azino neighborhood. The problems were typical for buildings of that age: a leaking roof and drafty wooden windows. During the renovation the roof and all window units were completely replaced, the hall, gym, and the biology, chemistry and physics classrooms were repaired. Engineering networks were upgraded, finishing works completed, and new furniture delivered. The cafeteria was not redone — it was modernized back in 2019 under the city school restaurants program, one of the first in Kazan.

      "The result can only be praised: everything was done with quality and on time — neither parents nor the school administration have complaints. Moreover, genuinely warm working relations developed between the principal and the contractor — which, as we know, in such projects is more the exception than the rule," Ilya Volfson emphasized.

      The deputy also drew attention to the school grounds. They are large, well-kept, and include an outdoor hockey rink that nearby residents use for training outside of school hours.

      "We discussed with the principal our long-standing idea of placing commercial sports facilities on the school grounds within the framework of public-private partnerships, which would be free for students during school hours and operate in the evenings as clubs for anyone interested. The idea was supported by both the principal and representatives of the parent committee — they were particularly interested in a padel court: there are many students at the school who are passionate about this sport," the parliamentarian shared.

      Ilya Volfson also spoke about the memorial area dedicated to the school's alumnus Mikhail Ermolin. Lieutenant Colonel, commander of a rocket artillery battalion of the 126th Guards Coastal Defense Brigade, call sign "Dnepr." He served in hot spots: Chechnya, South Ossetia, Syria. He was awarded the Zhukov and Suvorov medals, the "For Distinction in Military Service" medals of all degrees, the "For Service in the North Caucasus" medal, a breast badge, and a medal as a participant of the Syrian campaign. Posthumously — the Order of Courage: during the special military operation he saved 35 people, extracting them from encirclement under fire, and died the next day while carrying out a combat mission.

      "A memory corner has been created at the school, and a tree was planted in the yard — it was brought by Mikhail’s mother from her garden. There is a spot on the school facade that would be well suited for a commemorative mural in honor of the Hero. I will try to help so that this idea is realized. Mikhail Ermolin’s feat must live on — in the memory of the school, the city and the country," concluded Ilya Volfson.
