According to the press service of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for Tatarstan, as of today, part of the amount for paying fines is regularly withheld from the salaries of 723 non-payers. Since the beginning of this year, the bailiffs of Tatarstan have collected more than 41 million rubles in fines from traffic offenders. This concerns drivers who operated a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or refused to undergo a medical examination. Strict enforcement measures are yielding results: thousands of motorists have been deprived of the opportunity to travel abroad, property has been seized, and even administrative cases have been initiated. Since January, the fine for the corresponding violations has increased to 45 thousand rubles, making them more significant. However, many drivers continue to evade payment. As reported by "Tatar-inform," as of today, part of the salary of 723 debtors is being withheld, 2,239 people cannot travel abroad, and the property of 221 violators has been seized. Administrative cases have been initiated against 50 notorious non-payers for evasion of payment – they face up to 50 hours of community service or 15 days of arrest. During raids, bailiffs seize household appliances, electronics, and even cars. As soon as valuable items are confiscated, debtors must find money to pay the fine. For example, in Kazan, a man quickly settled his debt after his phone was seized, while in the Sarmanovsky district, a Mazda car was returned to its owner only after the fine was paid, and in Zainsk, a woman immediately paid all expenses to retrieve her towed car from the impound lot. Bailiffs remind that the deadline for residents of the republic to settle their debts is limited – otherwise, the seized property will be sold at auction, and the proceeds will be used to pay off the debt.
