       Last year, Tatarstan managed to maintain 12th place in the ranking of regions by the level of material well-being of the population. By the end of 2024, Tatarstan has fallen to 15th place.

       Despite improvements in indicators, Tatarstan dropped from 12th to 15th place in the federal ranking of material well-being of the population compiled by RIA Novosti. According to the data from the presented study, the republic demonstrated growth in key parameters, scoring 77.36 points compared to last year's 65.39, but this was not enough to maintain its position. The leader of the ranking was traditionally the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with the maximum score. The top three also included Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (99.31) and Magadan Region (99.11). Among neighboring regions, Udmurtia showed the best dynamics, rising from 43rd to 38th place overall. Bashkortostan, on the other hand, dropped to 52nd place. The ranking was calculated based on a comprehensive analysis: the ratio of population income to the cost of the consumer basket, the volume of savings, the level of poverty, and the availability of mortgages. In addition, indicators such as the share of the population with incomes below the poverty line, the share of families that could afford to buy an apartment with a mortgage, and the share of the population with incomes over 60,000 rubles per month were taken into account. It is worth noting that last year Tatarstan ranked 12th in a similar ranking, scoring 65.39 points. It was previously reported that Kazan became one of the most attractive cities in Russia for budget vacations in September. According to the nationwide ranking, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan ranked fifth in the list of affordable tourist destinations for recreation.
