According to data from the "Platform OFD" company for September-October of this year, as reported by RIA Novosti, residents of Kazan have been visiting restaurants more frequently and spending more money: the average bill in the city's establishments rose by 11% to 2217 rubles, while the number of purchases increased by 9%. Experts note that this is not just growth, but one of the most striking dynamics among all million-plus cities in Russia. While Moscow and St. Petersburg are experiencing a decline in attendance, the capital of Tatarstan, on the contrary, is witnessing a real restaurant boom. "Restaurants and bars – the average bill across Russia is 2920 rubles, 12% higher than last year. The number of purchases increased by 4%," experts note. The figures speak for themselves: the average bill in the city's establishments jumped by 11%, reaching 2217 rubles, while the number of purchases made increased by 9%. In comparison, the nationwide growth in the number of purchases was only 4%. This proves that Kazan residents did not just respond to inflation, but consciously and massively redirected their leisure towards quality recreation outside the home. Although in absolute terms, Kazan's average bill (2217 rubles) still lags behind Moscow (4350 rubles) and St. Petersburg (5820 rubles), it is the positive dynamics in two key parameters simultaneously – frequency and amount of spending – that makes it the current favorite. It was previously reported that several dining establishments in Kazan were closed due to the discovery of E. coli. During inspections at cafes, violations of sanitary norms, problems with technological processes, lack of necessary conditions for food preparation, and equipment shortages were identified.
